About Our Team

Know us

As the granddaughter of farmers who ran a business during a time when that was rare for African Americans; resilience and entrepreneurship run through my veins.

I started in real estate with no office space, no staff, and no seed money – just a dream, tons of hard work and grit, and an unrelenting feeling that I was meant to do something “more”. Using my client service experience from my former life as an Advertising Executive, I built my business on the premises of trust, integrity, and passion. I love to be creative and to be of service – so I found the perfect niche. I began my entrepreneurial career as a Realtor – and I learned quickly that the business was just as much heart as it was technical. After serving my clients for three years, I went on to obtain the GRI Designation and then became a Broker. I am proud to have mentored five Realtors, who are now running successful practices of their own. I am currently affiliated with Re/Max Specialists. With over 25 million dollars in sales (and counting!) my track record shows I mean business – but my relationships show I care.

In 2002, I expanded my service offerings by adding Interior Design Services through the development of my firm, SDV Decor, LLC. My design work has has been seen highlighted through national media venues such as HGTV, Washington Spaces, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Black Enterprise, Vibe Vixen, Pynk Magazine, Good Morning DC, and SET Magazine – among others. It is through interior design, that I get to partner with my clients to create spaces that are unique to their taste and lifestyle. My heart still races with excitement when I find unique furniture, textiles, and accessories! This part of my job is an equal mix of creativity and project management – as I oversee the work of tradesmen to include electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and painters. Recognizing a glaring disparity in the industry, I decided to get my General Contractor’s license in 2018 so that I could lead my own construction crew. I am proud to be a WIC (Woman in Construction) and I work hard to close the gaps between preconceived notions of what a woman can do and what actually gets done. I am passionate about advocating for Women’s rights, and I hope to encourage other women to break down barriers.

I do none of this alone. When you hire me, you get US. My team consists of a group of professionals who help me ensure your needs are met. Our team consists of myself (Broker, GC and Principal Designer), a Design Assistant, an Accountant, and an ever-growing crew of tradesmen. I am grateful for each of them.

It’s an honor to work within your home, and I don’t take this lightly. Buying, selling, designing or renovating a home are some of the most monumental decisions you will make – and I will hold your hand through each of these processes and advocate for you along the way. Home is where our most precious memories are made – and I share mine with my husband, my 10-year old twins (Dale and Delaney), and our new puppy (Oscar). I hope to enter your home as a trusted advisor, and leave as a friend.
